4 things I want students to be able to do by the end of the semester

If I had to whittle down what I want students to learn from me, it is as follows:

I want students to know how to “play the games” of school and society (to get what they want and need, and to give to the world).

I want students to know how to use a process to develop their writing (because it’s going to create better writing).

I want students to be good at working with groups and with me (to get and give what they want and need)

I want students to be able to “read between the lines” (to see what is going on in a situation or text) and be able to think about it and make decisions that benefit everyone [not be “self-centered”] (because that is what I see as good/just in the world).
